Knowledge Village

The place I chose is near the whimsies. More specifically it’s right in the middle of the whimsies, under the Nome kingdom and next to Vegetable Kingdom. These are a small village of people who believe in knowledge and inventions. They are situated near the whimsies where most attention is drawn as they cause a fuss and use their muscles, so it is perfect distraction and cover for them to carry out their studies and invent. They built a rock wall from the whimsies to prevent them from tracking on their land and disrupting their research. They study mainly the nature around them and venture through the forests that surround them where they get samples. The plants they pick become the source of food for them, magic and potions are also cultivated with those means. The people in the village live mostly in hiding because they don’t like to be disturbed to conduct their studies. Their purpose is to learn as much about the earth beneath their feet as they can.

They have a library where the head librarian trains his helpers travel and venture out scouting new knowledge. The library is vast with endless amounts of information from all over, quite universal. The education center is where they invent and the test lab is where experiments are run. The education center is in the middle with easy connections to both other buildings so that information can be sent to and fro efficiently. The community center is where everyone goes to share their various resources as a community.

Because these people are curious about vast knowledge, they don’t like to deal with politics from the Nome king above them. In the past the king has asked for their hand in joining his army but they have refused the king and do not use their knowledge for power or evil.

There are three types of knowledge people, seekers, testers and makers.
Seekers are strong built and are trained to fly. All knowledge people are born with wings like a birds but seekers are the best flyers. They are trained to gather information from all across the world. Seekers usually live most of their lives away from the village, to be sure to learn enough about the world to then come back and tell the village about it.

Testers are more small built; they work in the test labs and mainly conduct research. Some testers never learn to fly because they don’t like it or they never leave enough to have the need to. They much prefer walking, it is more comfortable for them.

Makers are the most powerful of all, they are quick thinkers who invent. They gather the research and materials from the other two types and create things from knowledge they’ve learnt.

One character is Sekar, the head librarian. He has flown far and wide in his youthful days. Now he trains others so they can venture out too. Sekar has done dirty work in the past for the Nome king in secret. None of his people know about this. It was a mistake he forever regrets but has learned from his foolish days. He is currently planning a move for the village so they can be situated further in the mountains away from the Whimsies and the Nome King so that his family and friends can live more in peace.
